While it may seem like a joke, it is not…On Labor Day Weekend of 2010, a client of Kalikhman & Rayz, LLC was detained by police when she was walking in her neighborhood – the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. She then spent approximately 10 hours inside a West Philadelphia police station. Later, she was accused of an aggravated assault on a police officer while in custody – kicking a male officer in the groin area. Last month, Arkady “Eric” Rayz – one of the founding members of our firm – secured a six-figure settlement of the underlying civil rights claim against the City of Philadelphia and over a dozen police officers. The aggregate sum works out to just over $18,000.00 for every hour our client spent in handcuffs.
