Recently, together with our colleagues from Connolly Wells & Gray, LLP, attorneys from Kalikhman & Rayz, LLC initiated a class action against the Firstsource Advantage, LLC – a debt collector headquartered in Mumbai, India. As detailed in the complaint, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Firstsource initiated improper telephone collection campaigns and failed to send written notices identifying itself as a debt collector. These practices are unlawful under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1692 et seq., and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991, 47 U.S.C. § 227 et al.
